COMMERCIAL AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE
Commercial Automobile Insurance may
be written independently as a mono-line policy, or it may be written in
conjunction as a package policy. Commercial Automobile Insurance is used
to insured vehicles owned or used by a wide variety of businesses.
LIABILITY COVERAGES
Liability Insurance involves a third
party - one who has suffered Bodily Injury or Property Damage for which
the insured is responsible. Your losses covered by liability insurance
are only for the amounts you become legally obligated to pay as damages
to the third party. In practice, a Liability Insurance payment is usually
made on behalf of the client, and paid directly to the third party who
has suffered the loss.
PHYSICAL DAMAGE COVERAGES
Covers your car for damage done by
a certain covered peril. There are four categories of coverage available.
Each category offers you various types of perils to be insured against
for your commercial automobile.
Comprehensive
Coverage
The Insurance Company will pay for
a loss to a covered automobile or its equipment from any cause, except
the following, under this coverage:
-
The covered automobile's collision
with another object.
-
The covered automobile's overturn.
Specified
Causes of Loss
The Insurance Company will pay for
a loss to a covered automobile or its equipment caused by any one of the
following perils under this coverage:
-
Fire, lightning, or explosion.
-
Theft.
-
Windstorm, hail, or earthquake.
-
Flood.
-
Mischief or vandalism.
-
The sinking or burning, collision or
derailment of any conveyance transporting a covered automobile.
Collision
Coverage
The Insurance Company will pay for
a loss to a covered automobile or its equipment caused by any on one of
the following, under this coverage:
-
The covered automobile's collision
with another object.
-
The covered automobile's overturn.
Towing
Coverage
The Insurance Company will pay up
to the limit shown in the Declarations for towing and labor costs incurred
each time a private passenger type covered automobile is disabled. However,
the labor must be performed at the place of disablement.
AUTOMOBILE MEDICAL PAYMENTS
The Insurance Company will pay reasonable
expenses incurred for necessary medical and funeral expenses, or for an
insured who sustains Bodily Injury caused by an accident. The Insurance
Company will pay only those expenses incurred within three years from the
date of the accident.
UNINSURED MOTORISTS COVERAGE
The Insurance Company will pay all
sums the insured is legally entitled to recover as compensatory damages
from the owner or driver of an uninsured motor vehicle. The damages must
result from Bodily Injury damages sustained by the insured, caused by the
accident. The owner's or driver's liability for these damages must result
from the ownership, maintenance, or use of the uninsured vehicle.
If this insurance provides a limit
in excess of the amounts required by the applicable law where a covered
automobile is principally garaged, the Insurance Company will pay only
after all liability bonds or polices have been exhausted by judgments or
payments.
